Today is World AIDS Day - CAKE wants you to acknowledge the day and get in the mix!

It is CAKE's mission to be political and promote female sexual pleasure without compromise. Over the past few years there has been an increasing amount of attention paid to women and sex from the female perspective, BUT the discussion has been cloaked by today's media. Sex is not a byproduct--Sex is the real deal.

CAKE believes that the more up front and outspoken we are about sexual pleasure, the closer we get to attaining a real healthy sexual lifestyle.

Sexuality in America is simultaneously exploited for profit and shunned for indecency. Our culture subscribes to the notion that what we don't talk about won't hurt us. The sexual politics of the AIDS epidemic has proven us wrong. Denial and hypocrisy have taken the lives of millions of people and true sexuality is still kept in the closet, behind closed doors.

Every year World AIDS Day serves as a reminder that we all need to speak up, be active and be a part of making this change a part of our every day life. There are 30 million people living with HIV/AIDS in the world, the majority of which are in Sub-Saharan Africa. 20 years later, the AIDS epidemic is still a political nightmare. The majority of new HIV cases are in developing nations where there is no treatment and prevention efforts are hindered by economic hardship and lack of organization. 95% of all AIDS cases occur in the world's poorest countries. In some of the worst affected countries, 1/3 of the adult population now has HIV or AIDS.

Fortunately, there is a tremendous amount of momentum towards positive change, due in large part to the individuals, and organizations who have fought hard battles and continue to advocate for awareness and change. So much more needs to be done to provide every woman and man with equal treatment, equal access to prevention, education and care.

CAKE announces: THE Women-only COCKTAILS AND CAKE Soiree!!!

As we all know (and some of you have reinforced in your emails and surveys), there are times when we need to have fun without the boys around.

Check it out - we want you at the CAKE's soiree - an evening of good girlie fun at our private loft space on Tuesday December 12th at 7:00pm. Let CAKE stimulate your senses with wine, music, and a warm atmosphere, including a live educational, instructional and entertaining demonstration that will rock your world.
