CAKE Byte 33.0: Real Live Sexual Power
What is real sexual power? On our never-ending mission to answer the pressing questions of our generation, CAKE came across a new book from Paula Kamen, "Her Way-Young women remake the sexual revolution" (December 2000). Based on in-depth interviews with young women across the nation, Kamen provides compelling evidence that women with real sexual power live up to standards derived from within themselves - not the standards of men.
Stepping in where others have left off, Kamen is one of the first to profile the new generation of young women who have preserved an uncompromised sexuality in their pursuit for power. Kamen asserts that in order for women to achieve real sexual power, women must expand our sexual choices, and take control of our sexuality.
However, Kamen also notes that power is not only derived from a proper attitude. In reality, sexual empowerment is reinforced by outside forces. This includes a community of women who provide validation, expanded political consciousness and greater knowledge of sexual choices, as well as the true support of men. Sound familiar...?
Sex is life. Lifestyle revolves around sex. CAKE asserts that, in fact, sexuality is the integration of sex and lifestyle. Herein lies CAKE's ultimate purpose. As such, CAKE created CLUB.CAKE to see this goal manifest itself in a CAKE created reality ...to exhibit women's real live sexual power in ways that are exciting, stimulating, safe and above all - good fun.
For proof of concept, check out this week's highlight of our last CLUB.CAKE event - Lovespy.
Once again, CAKE is ever inspired by women's ability to express and exude true sexual power, when given the chance in the proper environment. By integrating sexuality and entertainment, CAKE strives to bring a new dimension to the revolution that has been brewing for over 20 years. Our exploration allows for a wide definition of "classic feminism", while still incorporating feminism's best attributes - empowering women, for themselves!
"The revolution will not be televised" - but CAKE continues to bring it to you live and in public!
Question of the week:
March is Women's History Month. In recognition, CAKE will dedicate the entire month of March to examining the relationship between women's body image and their sexuality. This exploration will culminate in a rocking praise your body bash at the end of March filled with CAKE.Girls and their partners who want to express and promote their real live sexual power.
Some say that women who feel good about themselves -- regardless of their weight or their looks -- have more sex, more orgasms, and are more sexually adventurous.
How does your body image affect your sexuality? SUBMIT your response at CAKE.REPORT.
Love,
CAKE
