In light of last week's grievous tragedy, CAKE would like to take this opportunity to send our sincere condolences, sympathy, well wishes and solace who has suffered and mourned to every New Yorker, the CAKE community and beyond. We want to also thank all of you who are a part of CAKE and those who have reached out to us with concern. We have been inundated with inquiries asking how we are, as well as many, many requests to move forward to bring the CAKE community together. Like most New Yorkers, it seems that we all need a sense of community and a connection to others to push through this tragedy.

First and foremost CAKE is a community of people representing New York and a New York way of life - one that promotes diversity, freedom, empowerment and celebration. More than ever, we want to express our solidarity, willingness and need as a community to move forward. Coming together as a community is necessary to feel alive. Here at CAKE, we have been searching for a way to promote togetherness and healing.

As a community, one that is active and well in New York City, we would like to donate collective funds to assist the workers who are responsible for putting the city back on track and allowing us to move forward. Donating money, time, skills, and materials are ways to assist in rebuilding what has been destroyed while reaffirming support for the things that we hold precious. As such CAKE will donate proceeds from the sale of the newly released CAKE.Shirt with the CAKE.Girl logo and the American flag (identical to the CAKE.Byte image above) directly to the local NYC chapter of the American Red Cross who are working day in and day out to assist families of the tragedy and restore our city over the coming months.

The CAKE.Shirt represents sexual freedom, freedom from fear, solidarity among the CAKE community and pride in NYC. We want to honor those who lost their lives on September 11th, those that helped save lives and those New Yorkers who demonstrated tremendous unity over the past days. We also want to honor New York City and all that it stands for. In wearing the CAKE.Shirt, the CAKE community can do our part to ensure that New York is made whole again and that CAKE remains an integral part of this city.

CLUB.CAKE Update:

Thank you to the hundreds of women who came down to support the CAKE.Vibe Soiree on September 10th. CAKE would also like to thank Girlshop and Libida for sponsoring the event. It was a fun filled spectacular night. Stay tuned for coverage of the event on the CAKE website next week.
