Conceptual Designer Shiri Zinn’s work centers on the modern day perceptions of eroticism and empowerment - representing a dynamic fusion of fine art, jewelry, fashion and product design. A recent Post Graduate of Central St. Martins School of Fashion in the UK, she challenges the boundaries between what is deemed ‘acceptable’ and ‘unacceptable’ for public consumption. Her innovative approach to utilitarian, sex lifestyle pieces questions the value judgments made by the key influencers - including fashion industry and media - and the censorship of taboo subjects. Using Swarovski crystals, snakeskin, quartz, precious stone, molten glass, and silver - Shiri Zinn handcrafts superb erotic pieces that marry the functional with a true artistic aesthetic.
‘I am intrigued by the reactions to subjects such as anal sex, menstruation and masturbation, which are often considered as dirty and distasteful. I intend to challenge these prejudices and uncover their positive aspects and unexpected glamour through the medium of design.’ - Shiri Zinn
Shiri’s point is well taken.
