In the Fall of 2001, we set out on the streets to recruit cute, normal guys - from east village rockers to upper east side business types to downtown wanna be models - to strut their stuff and become sex objects for the girls for one night. (CHECK out the photos for proof)
To our pleasant surprise, we were deluged with deliriously endearing applications from a bevy of virginal (as in lapdancing virgins) men. The next challenge was whittling down the list to a select few that would end up sitting on, and in CAKE Girls' laps.
With the tables turned and us girls in the casting seat, we settled down to the indelible, envious task of picking through 100's of applications with pictures and testimonials from guys dying to become the chosen few. Alas, we could not have them all, the decision had to be made. When all was said and done, we had culled together a group of 30 amateur boy-wonder lapdancers to entertain.
The night of the event, the curiously anxious, alternatively posing while smoking up a storm boy toys lay in wait back stage where you could smell the anticipation. Testosterone was flowing along with the drinks to loosen the boys up. Once they were pranced on stage for the girls to catch a glimpse, the rest was history - it has had us all in a tizzy ever since.
We filled the club with CAKE Girls and amateur boy lapdancers, mixed in a little heat, music, and dollar bills - and ended up with not less than a few hundred very satisfied young things. Not only did we hear from a few women that Lapdance was their ab fav CAKE event, but that the experience subsequently fueled several days of fantastical pleasure for women across New York City. Now you know why that girl on the subway can't wipe the smile off her face...
